Never let me go

Saw this movie during the weekend. Movies hardly ever impress me so much that I keep thinking about them days after they are over. Never let me go was so intense! The scenes are rather quiet, still there's always something in the air, a word that you expect come out of someone's mouth.

Inspired from a novel written by Kazuo Ishiguro, this movie presents the story of Ruth, Kathy and Tommy: "It had never occurred to me that our lives, which had been so closely interwoven, could unravel with such speed. If I'd known, maybe I'd have kept tighter hold of them and not let unseen tides pull us apart." (Kathy)

As for Keira Knightley (Ruth) and Carey Mulligan (Kathy), they were the reason for which I wanted to see the movie in the first place. Even though I must admit that Andrew Garfield (Tommy) played extremely well too.

A beautiful drama. No idea why it wasn't publicized strongly... it would have deserved it. In my book, it comes quite close to the intensity in Black Swan, even though the subject is nothing alike. I was very impressed, besides the plot itself, by the costumes and the entire 80s atmosphere.

Also, I am now obsessing over hangers with roses.

Friday bloggers: Inspiration for the month of February

first photo: Scott Park, all the rest from my computer and my tumblr

At the beginning of the month, I usually put a little time aside to browse for beautiful pictures and set up some sort of moodboard to inspire me throughout the month! These are the ones I made for February. Some of the ideas or characters in the pictures will be turned into posts.

What inspires you and your blogging this month?

Sofia Coppola in Paris

via RDuJour

It was and continues to be a very busy week, so that explains the ridiculous sporadic posting.
But look! Sofia Coppola! In Paris! From New York Times’s T magazine (2009).
