What I wore today: Glimpses of summer

+++

First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the latest edition of Friday Bloggers! I enjoyed reading all the answers so much... you're awesome! See you this Friday again!

+++

Ok, now about the outfit....

This might be the last one in which I run around in just some skimpy dress (still, never say never!). It is definitely too cold outside for only one layer of clothing. Actually, I braved the chilly wind with an extra black knitted dress as you can see in some photos. Shhh!
I promise, this is the last bit of pink that can be found in my closet. But we'll see about that... this fall I don't want my wardrobe to match the dark, seasonal colors.

How did you choose the name of your blog?

Hey there! This is the third installment of Friday Bloggers. If you participated in the first editions, I can't wait to read your opinion on this week's question too!

For those of you who are joining Friday Bloggers now, here's the scoop: each week, my super-cool readers and I answer a question related to blogs and blogging. The aim is to get to know each other better, exchange ideas and share blogosphere-related experiences.

The previous installments were "Do you moderate comments on your blog?" and "Why do you blog?". Take some time to go through these, especially the comments section, the conversation is very engaging!

Ok now. This week, the question is...
How did you choose the name of your blog?

Picking a name for your blog is maybe the most important step of the entire setting up process: design, layout, domain, host etc. Those few words will define you and your words in the online community. So I bet you have an interesting explanation for naming your blog the way you did.

I can't wait to hear what you have to say! Many blogs have such amazing, funny, innovative names I often end up wishing I knew what the inspiration was. Personal experience of sorts? Nicknames? A mix of your favorite words? Your own name?
You will find my answer in the comments section so I'll meet you there!

Inspiration: Quotes!

Hello there! And for those of you who are new here: yay, welcome!

I thought that, because we are right in the middle of the week, a huge dose of inspiration would be great! However, the catch is that this week's inspiration comes as quotes... about fashion, of course!

So I've picked up a few that are not so well-known, hope you enjoy them!

+++++
"Dressing is a way of life." (Yves Saint Laurent)
+++++
"About half my designs are controlled fantasy, 15 percent are total madness and the rest are bread-and-butter designs." (Manolo Blahnik)
+++++
"The goal I seek is to have people refine their style through my clothing without having them become victims of fashion." (Giorgio Armani)
+++++
"I've always thought of the T-shirt as the Alpha and Omega of the fashion alphabet." (Giorgio Armani)
+++++
"As a fashion designer, I was always aware that I was not an artist, because I was creating something that was made to be sold, marketed, used, and ultimately discarded." (Tom Ford)
+++++
"Dressing up. People just don't do it anymore. We have to change that." (John Galliano)
+++++
"I'd like to believe that the women who wear my clothes are not dressing for other people, that they're wearing what they like and what suits them. It's not a status thing." (Marc Jacobs)
+++++
"I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-market fashion is very modern - wearing head-to-toe designer has become a bit passe. It's a new era in fashion - there are no rules. It's all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together." (Alexander McQueen)
+++++
"Even though it was the 70s, we found old stocks of clothes that had never been worn from the 50s and took them apart. I started to teach myself how to make clothes from that kind of formula." (Vivienne Westwood)
+++++
"You cannot fake chic but you can be chic and fake fur." (Karl Lagerfeld)
+++++
"Red is the ultimate cure for sadness." (Bill Blass)
+++++

+++++

My favorite is the one below (even though is not about fashion, it comes quite close):

"Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working." (Pablo Picasso)

Yes, sir!
