Introduction aside, let's skip to the goodies already!
I know you too already are a passionate blogger who dedicates considerable amounts of time to research and to writing posts. This is the kind of work which is anything but fabulous: you and your computer in a complete working environment. Even if you work from home, there must be one corner of the house dedicated to your very own, personalized office space.
Being continuously inspired is a hard thing to achieve, and we often use mood-boards, notes and beautiful pictures and objects to create an intimate atmosphere. But we shouldn't forget about one aspect: your look. What do you wear when you write? Do you keep your pajamas on all day long with a bowl of cereals + milk by your side? Or do you put on pretty clothes like you would if you had to leave the house? Does it even matter what you wear when you blog? This my dears is what I am asking...
Do you dress up when you blog?

As usual, I am posting my answer in the comments section. See you there!

I know for a fact that dressing up for no reason at all can be an incredibly stimulating thing to do for creative writing. It completely changes the mindset, enables you to think bold and big. So, most of the time, I try to stay dressed up when I blog. It makes me keep my head higher, my back straight, my legs in a proper posture: fidgeting is reduced considerably and my productivity levels go through the roof! It's pretty spectacular if you think about it. Imagine what happens if I happen to be wearing an elegant dress and sky-high pumps! Whee!
ReplyDeleteSo, what is your experience?
i dont dress up when i blog. for the most part, i sit on my bed looking into my closet, at my clothes lol. if i am dressed its becouse i'm come from somewhere or going somewhere but i do agree with Daiane, i guess it could full your head with great ideas for a interesting post
ReplyDeleteI do both:)
ReplyDeleteI'm in my office during the day blogging (all dressed up) and then when I catch up and blog again at night, Im usually in some comfy jammies:)
Im in my outfits of the day for usually 12+ hours, I like just chiling in my home office with a cup of tea, computer and blogging buddies:)
I do agree though, if I never left the house or didnt dress up? I feel my creativity would definitely suffer.....
Have a Fabulous day!

I don't, I usually stay in my pijamas all day if I don't have to leave the house (I know, disgusting).
ReplyDeleteI feel the difference when I'm dressed but as I write whenever I feel like it, I don't see the point. Also for me, being comfortable means that I can be more productive although for some strange reason I have to have my teeth perfectly well brushed before I can start doing something productive... weird.
So, no, I do not dress up to blog unless I'm doing an outfit post.
Wow, you come up with some interesting questions... I'm really enjoying this Friday Bloggers series :)!
ReplyDeleteWell, to answer you question I usually write in the morning while my son is still sleeping so pajamas are a safe bet! and since I am the mother of a 6 month old I have quickly learned how to multitask which means I have my breakfast while writing. If I'm not writing in the morning then its in the evening when my son is already asleep... (go figure) so again, pajamas are definitely high on the list of possibilities, as for annex evening activities...brushing my teeth, putting on a face mask...and so on. I really don't have time to play dress up, but more then that I doubt it would help my writing. I find that my mind is at its freest and most creative when I am comfortable in my clothes. So there you go, pretty mundane I know, but that's how it is with me :).
what a great topic! however i am totally all about comfort when i blog, i wait until i have nothing left to do (well except homework but that can wait right? :P) and then i get all comfy in my pj's or sweats and blog away...even if i am doing an outfit post, i usually change out of my clothes before posting the same outfit on my blog...i just love to be comfortable :)
ReplyDeletenope not really, i blog when i have the time to take the pictures :)
ReplyDeleteLove,

No, I feel inspired when I'm comfy:)
ReplyDeleteAnd the second I arrive home I change in my "house" clothes, big and baggy ones. I sometimes blog in my pijama when I just woke up or read the morning blogs...like now!
OMG. i almost missed out on this. hi daiane!
ReplyDeleteanywho, i just wear my usual house clothes such as my shorts and loose shirts. when i blog, i need to be comfy and free and not worry about my outfit getting wrinkled or etc.
I have my moments of laziness when I do sit around in my pajamas and blog but these are normally the days when I'm feeling a little sorry for myself. I slob around because I feel blue and I'm blue because I slob around. I am a true believer that the way you dress affects your mood, confidence and productivity. When I get dressed I'm ready for battle, my clothes are my armour and my laptop my sword POW!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and your topics of discussion interest me a great deal. Keep up the good work :)
That is an interesting question and not easy to answer, because I dont folow any styling principals. In general I can say,I just follow my daily mood, sitting in my design studio and spending most of the time in my design bubble. The surrounding itself gives me already a great inspiration source and blogger vibe. later, FashionLifeCoach
ReplyDeleteI do!

It really depends on when I do it. Sometimes I blog at school, so I'm dressed up there. Sometimes I blog when I get home from work, so yup, I'm dressed up then, too. Even if I have a rare day of just staying in and working on the interwebs, I at least put on make-up and maybe even a decent outfit.
ReplyDeleteThe second picture you posted is soo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I dress up, sometimes I don't.. It always depends on my mood. I like blogging when I'm feeling good, it might be when I'm all dressed up, awesome clothes and make up. But sometimes, especially if I blog at night, I want to wash my make up and wear some comfortable home clothes. x
often as 5 or 6 times a week and I make sure to return everyone's comments. So with balancing all of that, it doesn't really matter to me what I'm donning WHILE I'm blogging. I'm just having fun doing it and trying to perfect my technique as well as keep my readers happy =)

I usually write my posts at night, so I'm in pajamas already, but my posts aren't all that fashion oriented all the time, so I don't think staying in that mindset is 100% necessary.
ReplyDeletebeautiful illustration, dear!!!!!
ReplyDeletei dont dress up when i blog
xoxo
♥ poisepolish.
I generally blog after work so tend to wear what I've been wearing all day, but if it's at the weekend it will usually be in my pj's or whatever I've got dressed in that day.
ReplyDeleteI'm holding a giveaway over on my blog, make sure you check it out http://my-favourite-fashion.blogspot.com/
Have a great weekend! xxx
Love the illustration! The flowers almost looks like it's 3D.
ReplyDeleteNo. I don't dress up when I blog. I usually blog really early in the morning, or past midnight, that's when I usually get my "writing mood". :D

http://miafied.blogspot.co,
not really, i'm too tired at the end of the day....
ReplyDeleteI never thought about it - but I suppose you're right. I do tend to feel more inspired and excited when I'm dressed up so perhaps I should try it when I'm drawing a complete blank!
ReplyDeleteinteresting post. and, im guilty of not dressing up when i blog too. in fact, i cannot wait to change into my comfy home clothes the moment i reach home... it's always big T and shorts for me. perhaps, that's my blogging attire! :P
ReplyDeleteNo! Most of my blogging is done from home so unless I'm going out or meeting up with someone, then I usually just stay in something comfortable like a slip or some pyjamas :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment!
ReplyDeletei love your blog! it's so cute.
x
I blog when I'm at home so I don't. Unless I'm doing an outfit post.
ReplyDeleteP.S Love the Lily Allen shot!
well that depends if I am already dressed for the day or not. Today I am in workout clothes ;)
ReplyDeleteI blog at all different times of the day, so it depends. I don't dress just to blog, but I will blog when I am dressed fabulous. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get in the habit of being out of 'pajamas' when I blog. I know psychological it would be SO much better for me.
ReplyDeleteLove Grace.
That is such a beautiful illustration!! But coming back to the question . . Well yes, I do think that the way you dress is important bc you don't just dress for others to see and also the way you dress can set your entire mood. Still I don't really dress up. I'm usually rather casual, but love to be surrounded by cozy and soft materials when I write :)
