How to: Over-the-Knee Boots

Because these are the trend, I figured it would be nice to test them in different combinations. So I turned to looklet yet again, which happens to come in quite handy when putting up such experiments. After I was finished making the three outfits I realised that all of them came out quite fancy, even fancier than I would have projected if I wanted them to be like that in the first place. However, I think thigh-high boots look just as good with a pair of short shorts and a vintage, large tee. Ha, I feel more elegant just looking at these photos, believe me.
Ok, for items info, back view and portrait, click on each image!

All outifts are based on an over-the-knee pair of vintage boots. Which, incorporating not one but three colors, make them appear to me even more spectacular. Here's what the runway AW09 has to offer:

Antonio Berardi - Giles - Gareth Pugh

Hermes - Hussein Chalayan - Isabel Marrant

Malandrino - Louis Vuitton - Marc Jacobs

Rodarte - Prada - Ohne Titel

Just before hitting publish on this post, I ran into an editorial featuring an impressive amount of thigh-high boots. Behati Prisloo for Flair, via Fashion Gone Rogue.

And there are so many more other styles I didn't include here! Barely scratched the surface with  a dozen of images: think even more of these are out there in the wild. Everyone is all-over these boots. Too bad they're not that wearable in real life, not to mention going anywhere near accessible. But hey, they make for good editorial props, don't they?

Sweet treats,
Daiane

  1. I adore the three outfits you made. I actually have a pair of over the knee boots in black suede - they were supposed to be knee-high, but I'm short, so they're over the knee. I love them. They look gorgeous with skinny jeans! :)
