Friday Evening Live Blogging

Heard an echo when the 60s and 70s closets are opening again. London style. On the runway at 3.1 Phillip Lim:

Coolest feature of the show: hipster singer Lissy Trullie and her band played live throughout the show, as reported on style. Honestly, didn't hear about her before, so I guess she made a good name for herself if she didn't have one already. And yes, business is going well for Lim, as he declares "people still like the prices". Every man for his own, as they say. Fabulous focus on the coats, and the final impression was that of things ment to be sold, totally wearable. The runway looks, all of them, have potential in attracting future clients. That can only be good in times when epic eye-candy does not do too much good to anyone.

Weee.... I'm not sure I know what to do with myself:

Forthright and unreserved expression of rock 'n' roll:

I'm sure you like to see backstage photos, I always do. Hah. People are so much funnier back there than say, when strutting the catwalk. So, the making of: beauty, hair, groups and friends, designers and models. Utterly fabulous. Actually now that I'm writing this down, I realise the thing is that only when seen in backstage photos the clothes look... lively. As in they really get worn. I like to emphasise this as such an important part of garments we often pay little attention too, if any. But that's the idea: to like them, to feel good in them and when wearing them. And that will show. Even if is mostly for poses. Models actually smiling for a change, super cute:

I'm still not sure if I completely feel the bowl haircuts as I couldn't imagine anyone in real life sporting such a perfectly cut and styled hairdo. Still, they match the spirit in this collection. And, of course, I find it to be a strong (and longer) reminder of the futuristic army designed by Stefano Pilati for Yves Saint Laurent for Fall 08.

Also on the 3.1 Phillip Lim runway were these killer babies:

Side note: do bowl haircuts have to be paired with sky-high, unparalleled heels all the way? It happened then, they come back now. So it seems...
