Elementary, my dear Watson

Throughout my browsing on the new collections in the NY fashion week, I noticed that one type of dress is constantly appearing (and this time I'm not talking about the LBD). This dress ends about one hand above the knees and has short, fitted sleeves. So I've put up a mosaic with this dress interpreted in various ways:

1. bill blass 2. brian reyes 3. calvin klein 4. zac posen

Out of all, Vivienne Tam seems to have the most dresses like this, some of them are even LBDs, some other have the Mickey Mouse print; hey, girls just wanna have fun!

However, the most glamorous must be this Marchesa dress. Notice the sleeves again, they are talking art:

The runners up for sleeves category are:

1. carlos miele 2. marchesa 3. bill blass 4. betsey johnson

Carlos Miele goes on choosing fur for the sleeves, making it a classy look. The Marchesa dress keeps it again simple & elegant, while at Bill Blass, the dress is proper with a retro twist. Even the edgy Betsey Johnson lines up to the trend and applies very fitted sleeves to a shorter zipper-dress revealling a dramatic appearance.

Now this photo has nothing to do with the subject of this post, still I find it way to irresistible not to mention it. This adorable cape paired with a simple black dress, from Koi Suwannagate's NY debut collection:
